How to control the quality of cement clinker?

18 Apr,2022 UTC+8 Views:

In the Portland cement manufacturing process, the quality of the cement clinker directly affects the quality of the finished cement. In order to produce high-quality and high-yield clinker, several factors that affect the quality of cement clinker must be strictly controlled.
1. Lime Saturation Factor
A correct understanding of the significance of the lime saturation factor is the basis for designing the best clinker batching scheme and improving the quality of the clinker. During the operation of the cement kiln, the thermal system of the kiln will be affected by the fluctuation of the lime saturation factor, and the high saturation will make it difficult for the raw meal to burn the clinker.

2. Fineness and homogenization of raw cement meal
The fineness and homogeneity of the raw cement meal have a very important influence on the quality of the clinker. Generally, the fineness of the raw meal is kept between 12%-16%, which can ensure the quality of the clinker. Raw meal homogenization refers to the process of making the ingredients of the ground raw meal uniform through reasonable matching or stirring. If the degree of homogenization is low, the raw meal composition will fluctuate, and the thermal system of the kiln will be disturbed during calcination, which is not conducive to the normal operation of the cement kiln system.
3. Properties of pulverized coal
According to the data obtained in actual production, when pulverized coal is used as the fuel of the rotary kiln, the properties of pulverized coal, such as volatile matter, fineness, moisture, etc., will affect the calcination process of clinker. Therefore, in the operation of the rotary kiln, it is necessary to make corresponding adjustments according to the properties of pulverized coal and the ratio of raw meal.
4. Calcination temperature
According to the fluctuation of raw meal composition, the calcination temperature of clinker is generally between 1350-1450; if the temperature in the kiln is too low, it will easily cause insufficient calcination; if the temperature is too high, the density of the clinker will increase, making it difficult to grind.
5. Oxygen content in the kiln
Under normal circumstances, there should be enough oxygen in the rotary kiln to fully burn the fuel. If the fuel cannot be fully burned, CO will be generated and a reducing gas will be formed. In the actual production process, we can judge whether there is reducing gas by observing the color of the clinker and the gas composition parameters in the kiln. If there is, it can be solved by improving the ventilation in the kiln or adjusting the coal feeding speed.
6. Cooling process
In dry cement production, the clinker needs to be cooled in a grate cooler after leaving the kiln, so the cooling process will also have a certain impact on the quality of the clinker.

The strict control of the above six factors can ensure the quality of cement clinker. CHAENG cement rotary kiln, as the main equipment for the dry cement clinker production line, is the most efficient cement calcination equipment at present, which can meet the construction requirements of the 300-3000t/d cement production line. If you have requirements for cement rotary kiln equipment, please feel free to inquire online or leave a message.
